“I have been impressed by Claire's exceptional human qualities. She is such a kind friendly person. She was excited about my goals and genuinely committed to supporting me and being there for me. An ex-teacher herself, I knew that she would understand where I was coming from. She definitely did, with lots of empathy!” Jo Godin |

There’s the lesson planning, the marking, the behaviour management, the senior management, the paperwork, the report writing, the meetings, the chasing up of coursework, the schemes of work, the national curriculum guidelines, the detentions, the parents’ evenings, the displays, the clubs, the staffroom politics... Faced with all of this, it is fairly easy to see how so many teachers can become disillusioned. The passion you once had for sharing your subject, for seeing children’s faces light up with ‘getting it’, for finding imaginative ways of presenting a topic or teaching point, can be crushed by the sheer weight of workload, so that creativity is pushed to the very bottom of the to-do list. And then people joke about what an easy time teachers have of it! Coaching can help you to rediscover that passion, imagination and creativity, as well as helping you to set boundaries around your time to encourage a healthier work-life balance. Having worked as a teacher, both in mainstream secondary schools and as a TEFL teacher in England and France, I have a good understanding of the issues facing teachers and those who work in the school system and I very much enjoy helping people to rediscover their love for their teaching career.

Life coaching and youWe can work on pretty much any goal or project you care to mention. Sometimes what you want to focus on only comes out after we’ve chatted. Here are just some of the themes I’ve gathered particular experience in: |

How coaching takes placeThe majority of my coaching takes place over the phone. This a very practical solution, and provided you can find somewhere quiet and free of distractions, it is also very focussing and powerful. We can also meet up for an initial session where this is practical, and I also run workshops and other face-to-face courses and programmes on request. |
